Edible Atlas is seeking a Laboratory Research Analyst II to take on independent responsibility for analyzing our research data and for communicating these findings through technical and scientific writing. Scientific writing is at the heart of this role; the analyst will translate complex genomic analyses into high-quality manuscripts, progress reports, technical documentation, and figures. In addition to this writing focus, the analyst will plan and interpret complex genomic studies, evaluate and interpret data, help shape experimental and analytical plans, stay current with the scientific literature, support compliance around human biospecimens, and mentor junior personnel.
The role suits an experienced, scientifically trained individual who exercises independent judgment and writes clearly and compellingly about genomics, nutrition, and the gut microbiome. Applicants are strongly encouraged to provide a writing sample. Experience analyzing and interpreting research data and a background in genomics, the gut microbiome, or nutrition are preferred.
Edible Atlas (the David Lab) is seeking a Research Technician III to join our team of scientists developing and using new DNA-sequencing tools to study diet and the gut microbiome, with a special emphasis on measuring and analyzing food intake. Our techniques identify hundreds of plant and animal species, generating objective data that are unaffected by memory/recall and standardized across languages and cultures using the universal language of DNA.
This position is suited to individuals who thrive in an in-person work environment and enjoy a combination of hands-on molecular lab work and project management. The RTIII will run day-to-day molecular workflows that move samples from receipt to clean, analyzable sequencing libraries. They will also help standardize procedures, maintain inventory and equipment, and train student assistant to ensure reliable throughput across multiple projects. The ideal candidate should demonstrate high precision and efficiency in laboratory tasks and a mindset geared towards continuous learning and improvement.
